He is the author of 15 books\, including “Tyrant: Shakespeare on Politics”; “The Rise and Fall of Adam and Eve”; “The Swerve: How the World Became Modern” (winner of the 2011 National Book Award and the 2012 Pulitzer Prize) and “Will in the World: How Shakespeare Became Shakespeare.” His newest book\, “Dark Renaissance: The Dangerous Times and Fatal Genius of Shakespeare’s Greatest Rival\,” focuses on the astonishing life and enduring legacy of Christopher Marlowe. \nHe is general editor of The Norton Anthology of English Literature and of The Norton Shakespeare\, has edited seven collections of criticism\, and is a founding coeditor of the journal Representations. He was named the 2016 Holberg Prize Laureate. His honors include the MLA’s James Russell Lowell Prize\, the William Shakespeare Award for Classical Theatre\, two Guggenheim Fellowships and the Distinguished Humanist Award from the Mellon Foundation. \nHe was president of the Modern Language Association of America and has been elected to membership in the American Academy of Arts and Sciences\, the American Academy of Arts and Letters\, the American Philosophical Society\, the Italian literacy academy Accademia degli Arcadi\, and is a fellow of the British Academy. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nQUESTIONS FOR STEPHEN GREENBLATT CAN BE SUBMITTED HERE. \n\n\n\n\nSubmitted questions will be reviewed by the deans and moderator. Light refreshments will follow the event. \nCamille Ralphs\, born 1992\, is a poet\, critic and editor. Her poems and translations have appeared or are forthcoming in magazines including the New York Review of Books\, The Poetry Review\, The Spectator and The London Magazine\, and she has released three pamphlets: Malkin (The Emma Press\, 2015)\, which was shortlisted for the Michael Marks Award\, uplifts & chains (If A Leaf Falls/Glyph Press\, 2020) and Daydream College for Bards (Guillemot Press\, 2023). She writes critically for publications including The Telegraph\, The Poetry Review and the Los Angeles Review of Books\, produces a regular column for Poetry London and conducts an interview series for Poetry Birmingham Literary Journal and is Poetry Editor at the Times Literary Supplement. After you Were\, I Am is her first collection.
